英語技巧-如何master你的字彙

很多學生都會問相同的問題：老師，我單字記不起來，我真的有背，但是考試就是考不好！

我們今天練習單字與聽力，聽一下James老師介紹，如何增進單字能力，邊看邊記下重點，可以不只看一次，但第一遍先不要按暫停，第二遍後可以按暫停寫下影片大意及關鍵字，最後，我們再來看看summary。

這樣有助於同時練習聽力與單字，影片中的單字基本上不難，但是外國人偏慢的說話速度，可以練習聽寫與summary的能力，如果不確定自己寫的是否正確，可以按Youtube的互動式字幕，原則上85%的正確度，可以和你的筆記相互比對。

大部分的學生，都是看到不會的單字，就查字典，但查完字典就ok了嗎？當然不！

所以，有效增進字彙的方法如下：

1.          Write down the definition and example sentences from the dictionary.

Ex: ceiling (n.)

Ceiling is the top of the room. The ceiling is inside the building.

Ceiling is the limit of something. The large amount or number of something that is officially allowed:

限額，官方核定的最大數量。

例句：

This room has a high ceiling.

The government imposed a ceiling on imports of foreign cars.

政府頒布進口汽車的限額。

查完字典後，紀錄下單字定義及例句，會發現原來ceiling 的用法是什麼？常常搭配的動詞或介係詞的用語是什麼？例如impose a ceiling on sth

2.          Pronounce the word.

發音練習，確認正確發音與音節。

3.          Spell the word.

根據你的發音，寫10次單字。

4.          Recognize the word.

在不同的練習中，找出你曾經背過的單字，看你的單字本，再練習聽寫單字10次。
