Veteran (n.)
定義:
1.
someone who has been a soldier,
sailor etc in a war
上過戰場的軍人與水手。

someone who has had a lot of
experience of a particular activity
對特定活動經驗豐富的人。

Rookie (n.)
定義:

Novice (n.)
定義:

someone who has no experience
in a skill, subject, or activity [= beginner]:
指初學者,沒有任何經驗與技巧的人。

指加入宗教的修士與修女,也可以說是和尚和尼姑。
另外,經常有人會用freshman 這個字代表新鮮人,但注意喔!
freshman指的是第一年進高中或大學的學生,而不是職場上俗稱的菜鳥喔!
